UNS N08367 also commonly referred to as alloy AL6XN® is a low carbon, high purity, nitrogen-bearing "super-austenitic" nickel-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion. Alloy AL6XN’s high strength and corrosion resistance makes it a better choice than the conventional duplex stainless steels and a cost effective alternative to more expensive nickel-base alloys where excellent formability, weldability, strength and corrosion resistance are essential.
Magellan Metals alloy AL6XN is an extremely strong nickel-molybdenum alloy that provides many beneficial features, some of which include:
Excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride solutions
Practical immunity to stress corrosion cracking in NaCl environments
High strength and toughness
50% stronger than stainless steel
ASME coverage up to 800° F
Easily welded
Alloy AL6XN is used for a wide range of applications, including:
Seawater Heat Exchangers
Offshore Oil & Gas Rigs
FGD Scrubbers
Reverse Osmosis Equipment
Distillation Columns
